Haiti Earthquake

By the time the Haitian earthquake struck in January, 2010, JIA was a much more mature and better funded organization, and was able to be present on the ground in Haiti within five days of the earthquake.

Over the following months, JIA was able to send over 200 medical and non-medical relief providers to Haiti in over nine trips that year. We helped to organize mobile clinics that served under-served tent communities as well as staff a tent hospital jointly with the World Health Organization (WHO) and JP/HRO (Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization). Other partners included We Care Solar and One Million Lights.
